CONFERENCE MISSIONS:
CONFERENCE UMVIM MISSIONS IN OKLAHOMA, ---All
Over Oklahoma--- “THE
RIGHT THING” Mission Opportunities. There are no
better people to serve in mission than those in need
right in our own backyard. Throughout the year, Oklahoma
VIM works with the local churches of the Oklahoma
Conference to determine the unmet needs of their
physical facilities in which VIM assistance may be
utilized. Many of these churches would not be able to
get this much needed work done if it was not for the
great volunteers of VIM! The projects may include
churches, parsonages, fellowship halls, youth centers,
childcare homes, campus ministry centers and other
projects, both refurbishment and new construction. Call
for complete mission schedule. There are certain
priorities in life we need to make and taking care of
our pastors homes and our church homes is not only a
priority, but it’s “THE
RIGHT THING
TO DO!!”
---Construction,
VBS & Service--- All year. J, S, A, YA,

walks, ministering in shelters for homeless where you
can express love in ways that make a Christian
difference. The summer months are the focus for this
special ministry; however, VIM provides year-round team
scheduling, including during school breaks and holiday
seasons. ---Construction & Service--- J,

LANGSTON CAMPUS MINISTRY, ---Langston---
Wesley Foundation
Building. The Wesley Foundation at Langston was
established 20 years ago, and is the only one of 17
United Methodist campus ministries in Oklahoma that does
not have a building where they can meet. The Langston
group has met temporarily in a variety of places on
campus and nearby. Most of the students don’t have
cars and this makes it very difficult for them to
participate in the present activities of the Wesley
Foundation. Your mission team can help this vital
ministry to young students receive a long over due
permanent home.
---Construction--- J, S,
A, YA, OA.

most of the rest of the church. This is great

OKLAHOMA
UNITED METHODIST,
CIRCLE OF
CARE:
Circle of Care is a
not-for-profit agency with historic roots in the
Oklahoma United Methodist Church. Our mission is to
provide help, healing and wholeness to children, youth
and families who are hurting or in need. Since 1917,
Circle of Care has been helping people make better
choices, live happier lives, and find hope and promise
in their tomorrows. We combine Christian influence with
a therapeutic continuum of professional services. Our
residential group homes and foster care services
minister to the changing physical, emotional and
spiritual needs of individuals. We do not see the
children, youth and families who come our way as
"at risk." Rather, we see them as "at-promise," filled with God-given potential.
Volunteers are very important to the Circle of
Care. They are the lifeblood that helps us keep the
doors open and allows us to accomplish much more than we
could possibly do without them. They construct
buildings, make repairs and improvements, paint, clean,
and do a host of other jobs that we often don’t have
the time, the money, the know-how, the man power, or the
energy to do. Volunteers work frees us up so we can help
children and families in need live better and more
efficiently.

are year round volunteer opportunities to serve these
very special “at-promise” youth!! Opportunities include general repair

control behavior. We have great hope and love for these
“at-promise” young men!!! We provide them with a
quality education, therapeutic programs, community
service, counseling, independent living and
individualized treatment preparing them for life on
their own. You have many opportunities to help make
improve the quality of life for these “at-promise”

OIMC:
The
Oklahoma Indian Missionary Conference (OIMC) was
organized and established in 1844 to serve “distinctly
Indian congregations” in Oklahoma. The boundaries have
since been extended to include four churches in Kansas
and one in Dallas, TX.
Today there are 89 congregations in OIMC. Many of
the congregations are small and include less than 50
members, frequently located “at the end of the road”
in very rural areas. Others are small churches located
in small cities and towns, while a few larger churches
may be found in bigger cities. Many of the churches are
historic, having been around since the tribes were
forcibly removed from their homelands beginning in the
early 1840’s. Most of the work will be new
construction or repairs for OIMC congregations that
could not afford the work nor do it on their own. Many
sites are in beautiful rural settings. Most OIMC
churches prefer to conduct their own Bible Schools, but
occasionally they ask for assistance from outside their
congregation. Presently, there are no medical mission
opportunities in OIMC. The OIMC mission site is an
opportunity for you to serve Jesus Christ and be
personally involved in fulfilling a real and great need,
while learning about the wonderful heritage of our
Native American Christian Brothers & Sisters.---Construction---J,
