Haiti Volunteer Financial/Hospitality Coordinator
General Responsibilities
· Manage team and volunteer funds for Haiti UMVIM projects.
· Assist Volunteer Management Coordinator with orientation, team logistics, and debriefing.
· Itinerate after 6 months.
Management of Volunteer Funds
· Be familiar with GBGM Mission Volunteers and The Advance Offices related financial procedures.
· Prepare all written contracts for Individual and Team accommodations based on negotiated terms and assure that all required signatures/confirmations are included.
· Assure that project funds given through the Advance for Haiti UMVIM projects are accounted for and transferred to Haiti account for the purchase of materials.
· Once a team is scheduled and confirmed sent a cost expenditure list and confirm team expenses with team leader/individual volunteer.
· Track and report the value of all in-kind donations and cash gifts made by volunteers, as well as the value of time and labor services donated.
· Assure the all funds are recorded and receipted.
· Provide Individuals and Teams a record/receipt of expenditures.
· Prepare all financial reports needed for GBGM Mission Volunteers, The Advance, and EMH.
Hospitality
· Assist Haiti Volunteer Management Coordinator with general orientation when volunteers arrive.
· Assure that a local greeter/host welcomes team.
· Assist Haiti Volunteer Management Coordinator with debriefing prior to team/individual departure.
Characteristics
· UMVIM team leader trained with team experience in Haiti.
· French and Creole language skills.
· Must be able to facilitate volunteers and encourage relationships
· Computer knowledge; (QuickBooks, Quicken, Excel and/or similar programs)
· Organized; bookkeeping skills helpful
· Adaptability to changing situations
· Cordial, gracious, cooperative and helpful
· Ability to be firm, when appropriate
· Willingness to listen
