1. Alabama Rural Ministry (ARM), Livingston or Tuskegee: summer employment for college age students in a home repair and day camp ministry serving ethnic minority children ages 5- 12. Host volunteer teams or serve as day camp counselors. Housing, most meals, stipend. (RV)

2. Nellie Barge Community Center, Montgomery: teacher's aide or teacher for children 2-5 years old. Instruct children, sing, play games, tell Bible stories, chaperone field trips.

3. SIFAT (Servants In Faith And Technology International), Lineville: mission interpreter/logistics coordinator; administrative assistant; librarian; maintenance of buildings; animal care, garden helper; custodian and general helper. (RV)

ALASKA
1. Birchwood Camp, Chugiak: general camp maintenance; various positions for 5-week summer camp session. Room and board provided, one day off each week. (RV) 2. Nome Community Center, Nome: adult day care assistant; Bering Strait food bank coordinator. Housing provided by Community United Methodist Church. Small stipend.

ARIZONA
TMM Family Services, Inc., Tucson: carpentry, painting, plumbing, landscaping, general office receptionist, filing, mailing list upgrades.

CALIFORNIA
1.The David & Margaret Home, LaVerne: work in the residential program, administration, or community based. Requirements: good social skills, good written and oral communications skills, valid driver's license. Housing and meals provided, small stipend.

COLORADO
Templed Hills Camp, Woodland Park: general maintenance; work with work teams; hospitality specialist (welcome groups, share camp guidelines, describe camp layout, answer questions, odd jobs).

Alamosa, CO - VIDA Volunteers - Placement in various local non-profits to assist with their mission to provide services to the community. Housing and some meals provided. Possible small monthly stipend. Year commitment.  

Buckhorn Camp, Bellvue, CO.  Camp needs kitchen help for summer 2007.

FLORIDA
1. Penney Retirement Community, Penney Farms: retired M.D. to serve as community physician for this community of retired ministers, missionaries, YMCA workers and other lay persons.

2. Florida Disaster recovery center: Individual for various support positions for coordination and supervision of incoming UMVIM teams. Case management support.

GEORGIA
1. Breakthru House, Decatur: fundraising and development, grant writing, resident staff. 2. Jubilee Partners, Comer: full-time resident volunteers needed for teaching ESL and survival skills to newly arrived refugees; child care, cleaning, maintenance, gardening. Housing provided.

3. Murphy-Harpst Children's Centers, Cedartown: plumbing, carpentry, painting; summer volunteer program (activity assistants, clerical work, lawn and grounds care). (RV)

4. The Open Door Community, Atlanta: join resident staff serving homeless persons and prisoners, prepare and serve meals, assist with shower and clothing ministry, share in household cleaning and maintenance, participate in worship and peace with justice actions. 6 months minimum.

5. UMVIM, SEJ (United Methodist Volunteers In Mission, Southeastern Jurisdiction), Decatur: general office assistance; basic computer skills essential.

ILLINOIS
Midwest Mission Distribution Center, Chatham: assemble kits, sewing, carpentry. (RV)

KENTUCKY
1. Aldersgate Camp and Retreat Center, Ravenna: carpentry, mechanics, yard work, plumbing, trail improvements, etc. (RV)

2. The Bennett Center, London: work in an after-school program, Saturday night concert series, teen open hours, youth leadership development program, summer day camp, and special events. Housing, meals, health insurance and small stipend provided for long term volunteers.

3. Christian Appalachian Project, eastern Kentucky: work in home repair, child care, assist people with disabilities, elderly services, case workers, adult education, summer camp. (RV) 

4. Henderson Settlement, Frakes: tutoring, food pantry, home visits, transitional housing support, recreation for children and youth, other outreach ministries. Housing and meals provided. (RV)

5. Kavanaugh Life Enrichment Center, Crestwood: finish a lodging cabin (plumbing, electrical, drywall, building a deck, etc.); refurbish McCoy House; roof repair to Foeman Lodge. (RV)

6. Mennonite Central Committee, Harlan: cooks for spring and summer, job site leadership and material delivery. Small stipend. A project of CORA (Commission on Religion in Appalachia).

7. Moments with the Master, Gray: building, general paper work and grant writing. Housing and meals furnished. A project of CORA (Commission on Religion in Appalachia).

8. Open Ground, Harrodsburg: gardener; office help with grant writing, web site updating, publicity; building maintenance. Housing and food furnished. A project of CORA (Commission on Religion in Appalachia).

9. Red Bird Clinic, Beverly: physicians, nurses, lab technicians, dentists willing to become licensed in Kentucky for outpatient clinics. 1 month or longer. Lodging, some meals provided. (RV)

10. Red Bird Mission, Beverly: Adult Education volunteer, volunteer to manage Home Repair Program. (RV)

11. Tess' International Handicraft Shop, Wilmore: store manager of a non-profit mission store.

12. Wesley House Community Services, Louisville: work with the Development Consultant and assist with raising funds for renovating Wesley Wearhouse; participate in major grant writing.

LOUISIANA
1. Dulac Community Center, Dulac: repairs, ramp building, landscaping with Houma indigenous people; tutoring for children or adults, recreation and crafts, assist in office. (RV)

2. UMCOR Sager-Brown Center, Baldwin: volunteer will set up and supervise local community housing rehab projects.  Working with the Director of Outreach ministries, the volunteer will verify applications, survey the project, plan repairs, and coordinate volunteer teams to accomplish the tasks required.  Click here for more information. MINNESOTA
The Twin Ports Ministry to the Seafarers, Duluth: assist in welcoming the sailors in port; travel to congregations and groups in the area to share with them about the ministry and promote the church's involvement; help maintain the Center and grounds; etc. 1-3 years. Housing, meals, small stipend.

MISSISSIPPI
Rust College, Holly Springs: activities coordinator; house parents; heating and air technician.

MONTANA
1. Camp on the Boulder, McLeod, MT : Christian camp volunteer - positions available in maintenance, kitchen, and housekeeping. Arrive in June stay thru August. Housing and meals provided.
2, Project Blackfoot Reservation. Volunteer with servant heart needed to help with administrative duties and a variety of ministry outreaches on Blackfeet Reservation. Must be able to tolerate animals. Need own transportation. Housing and some meals provided. Glacier National Park nearby.

NEW MEXICO
McCurdy School, Espanola: Long-term volunteer school nurse; short-term and long-term term volunteers during school year (maintenance). Room and board available. (RV)

NORTH CAROLINA
1. Brooks-Howell Home, Asheville: be available to respond to emergencies, assist residents with needs, assist with transportation of residents, assist with mail distribution and delivery of newspapers, help with reading or writing letters, other duties. Apartment, small stipend. (RV)

2. Hinton Rural Life Center, Hayesville: home repair/construction, maintain center. (RV)

3. Marion Edwards Recovery Center Initiatives (MERCI), Goldsboro: grant writer especially needed; office work, warehouse work, construction, work with other volunteers, drive. (RV) 4. Robeson County Church and Community Center, Lumberton: home repair, Bible School, work in Native American community, food and clothing ministry, literacy training. Housing provided. (RV)

OHIO
SOWER Work Mission Program, Bethesda: supervise work teams in building and construction.

OKLAHOMA
Cookson Hills Center: assist with Volunteers In Mission program.

SOUTH DAKOTA
Tree of Life Ministry, Mission: direct Volunteers in Mission teams to work on projects, line up work for the teams, order and deliver supplies, line up culture activities for the evenings, meet teams and get them settled in the dormitory. Stay in the dorm with the teams and share meals with the teams.

TENNESSEE
1. Appalachia Habitat for Humanity, Robbins: long-term volunteers (1 month to 1 year) to work on the building sites and help with material runs. Housing, small stipend. A project of CORA (Commission on Religion in Appalachia).

2. Church Health Center - Memphis: Internships in the areas of aquatics, child life education, health education, health services research, exercise and movement, nutrition, wellness,physical therapy, public affairs, and congregational health ministries.

TEXAS
1. Agape Community Clinic, East Dallas: help provide health and spiritual care services, crafts, English as a Second Language, Bible study and fellowship. Volunteers needed: physicians, physician assistants, nurses, translators (Spanish, Vietnamese, Cambodian), office assistants, social workers, patient advocates, chaplains, and spiritual care persons (ordained or lay).

2. Arlington Urban Ministries, Arlington: work in storefront ministry, Laundromat ministry, Bible School, puppet shows, teach citizenship, life skills, nonviolence and ESL.

3. Dallas Bethlehem Center, Inc., Dallas: work with school-age children in summer enrichment program (computer instruction, lesson planning and teaching, chaperone field trips, parent interviews). BA in Education, Child Development, or Social Work required.

4. International Museum of Cultures, Dallas: interior/exterior painting, skilled trades, landscaping, museum guides; day camp counselors for grades 1-6 in summer. Lodging, dining, parking available on campus. (RV)

5. P.E.T. Project of Texas, Luling: help assemble Personal Energy Transporters for shipment to mission sites in developing countries for persons who cannot walk so they can become productive citizens. Tasks include woodworking, metal work, painting, and packing. (RV)

6. Project Transformation, Dallas: (1) Summer program -- join 50 other interns to provide summer programs for children at urban sites across Dallas. Free housing and food; small stipend, educational voucher. (2) Year-round Internship (full-time or part-time - 8 months of after-school programming, 8 weeks of summer day camp, 1 week of overnight urban camp. Lead after-school programs serving children in grades 1-6 (tutoring and homework help, physical recreation activities, rotational weekly lessons in nutrition, Bible, computer, etc). Provide monthly "Family Fun Nights." Small stipend, educational voucher issued by AmeriCorps.

7. Refugee Services of Texas, Dallas, Austin, Fort Worth, Houston: assist in refugee resettlement, case work, transportation, ESL, clerical work.

8. Wesley Community Center, Amarillo: Vacation Bible School, paint and repair homes (July), summer camp program, ages 6-13 (June-August). (RV)

9. Whispers of Hope Horse Farm, Wichita Falls: assist physically and mentally challenged youth, ages 2-19, with therapeutic riding at no cost to the child. Construction, plumbing, electrical, general labor, arts and crafts, office, horse handlers, spotters, barn keepers, maintenance, organizers, day supervisors, coordinators, team leaders, fundraisers.

10. Project Disaster Recovery Team, Texas Annual Conference, Beaumont - Supervise volunteers, assess houses, teach and training volunteers (roofing, exterior weatherizing, drywall including ceilings and walls, flooring). Must have construction and volunteer experience. Minimum commitment of 2 months is requested. (posted June 2006)

VIRGINIA
Henry Fork Service Center, Rocky Mount:

1. Assist with summer, pre-school and after-school programs: homework, mentor, supervise indoor and outdoor activities, plan and lead crafts. (RV)

2. Construction supervisors for incoming work teams and projects. Housing provided.

WASHINGTON
Lazy F Camp and Retreat Center, Ellensburg: cook, do dishes, serve meals; irrigation help, minor maintenance jobs, cleaning.

WASHINGTON , D.C.
L'Arche - live in community with and assist individuals with developmental disabilities by offering individualized support services, adaptive skills training, basic medical care and a family like atmosphere. Prefer one year commitment. Housing, meals and monthly stipend provided.

WEST VIRGINIA
McDowell Mission, Gary: rehabilitate old school building for varied ministry, electrical, plumbing, general construction. Housing provided. A project of CORA (Commission on Religion in Appalachia).
